Meet Luna

Written by Andrew J Cabrera Feb 20 • 1 minute read

On February 9th, 2020, I was hit by a car and broke my pelvis. This all started because I was a curious pup and went exploring after a neighbor accidentally left the gate open when visiting my family. While my family took me to the nearest Veterinary Hospital at Animal Medical Emergency Center, sadly they could not afford hospitalization to take the pain away and fix my broken bone… so they surrendered me because they loved me and wanted the best for me.

After a day or two, I went on a late-night adventure ride with Dr. Cabrera the veterinarian who said he would try to make me feel better. We drove for a little while and eventually ended up at another hospital, all I really remember is Dr. Cabrera picking me up, seeing a bright white sign, and meeting a bunch of new and friendly humans!

I think I must have slept for a while because when this new human woke me up to go for a walk it was daytime and my left leg was completely furless! While i’m not really sure what happened, I do know that I can walk and kind of run without it hurting as much as before!
